Usually, the composition of beneficiation equipment is determined according to the beneficiation process, and the process is determined according to the properties of ilmenite ore. Different ilmenite ore beneficiation process methods are different. At present, the commonly used ilmenite beneficiation processes are gravity separation, magnetic separation, flotation and electrostatic separation. In this process, the required ilmenite beneficiation equipment is divided into gravity separation equipment, magnetic separation equipment, flotation equipment and electrostatic separation equipment.
Due to the complex nature of ilmenite ore and the difficulty of mineral processing, single re-selection cannot effectively obtain ideal iron concentrate. Therefore, the plant is used as a pre-selection operation for ilmenite to provide good materials for subsequent mineral processing. Generally, it selects ilmenite with coarse or fine particle size. After the original ore is coarsely crushed or medium crushed, it is subjected to a large amount of tailings and mud removal through chutes, shaking tables and other equipment.
Spiral chute:In ilmenite beneficiation, it is mostly suitable for coarse-grained mineral gravity separation (0.6~0.2mm), and can pre-select and recover qualified coarse-grained ilmenite concentrate in advance.
Shaking table:In ilmenite beneficiation, it can handle fine-grained separation of ore with a particle size of ~0.037mm, and is generally used for concentrating operations.
Ferro-titanium is a relatively weakly magnetic ore in iron ore, so a certain strong magnetic field can be used to separate iron-containing minerals from gangue minerals. Since the minerals are weakly magnetic, strong magnetic separation is often used to enrich them. However, magnetic separation cannot effectively recover the difficult-to-select ilmenite. In the beneficiation process, selection and tailing operations are often performed to assist the entire beneficiation plant in improving the grade of iron concentrate. At present, the commonly used magnetic separation equipment in ilmenite beneficiation is mainly strong magnetic separators, including dry strong magnetic separators, wet strong magnetic separators and high gradient magnetic separators.
Wet strong magnetic separator:This equipment is mainly used for pre-selection or rough selection before entering the mill in the magnetic separation of ilmenite, and is generally suitable for the separation of medium and coarse particles (2~10mm) of minerals.
Dry strong magnetic separator:In ilmenite beneficiation, it is the same as the wet type, and is mainly used for pre-selection before entering the mill, and is generally suitable for the magnetic separation of coarse particles (below 30mm) of minerals.
High gradient magnetic separator:In ilmenite beneficiation, it is mostly suitable for the strong magnetic separation of fine particles (below 2mm).
Due to the diversity and complexity of ilmenite ore properties, the flotation process should be selected according to the ore properties. Currently, there are three available flotation ilmenite processes: conventional flotation, flocculation flotation and agglomeration flotation. The required flotation equipment can be determined according to the overall situation of the ore dressing plant, investment cost, etc. Currently, there are mechanical stirring flotation machine series and aeration stirring flotation machine series.
Mechanical stirring flotation machine:SF flotation machine, JJF flotation machine and BF flotation machine are available, mostly used in roughing and scavenging. In addition, SF and JJF can form a combined unit.
Aerated stirring flotation machine: There are three types of XCF flotation machine, KYF flotation machine and CLF coarse particle flotation machine. According to the different configurations of the equipment, they can be used in roughing, scavenging and concentrating.
The electrostatic separation of ilmenite is mainly responsible for the aftermath work. Since some ilmenite ore contains a small amount of non-conductive impurities such as titanite in the ilmenite rough concentrate after gravity separation or magnetic separation, it is necessary to remove them through electrostatic separation. Before electrostatic separation, pretreatment operations such as heating or radiation irradiation are required. The equipment required in the process is mainly an electrostatic separator.
Electrostatic separator: It uses the different conductivity and dielectric constants between minerals to complete the mineral separation through corona electric field and electrostatic field.
