Heap leaching has the advantages of simple process, less equipment, less investment, quick results, low production cost and strong adaptability of ore. This article takes a certain oxidized low-grade gold ore as an example to introduce its heap leaching method!
The ore is a low-grade fine-grained oxidized gold ore. The main minerals are quartz, calcite, iron dolomite, hematite, etc., and contain a small amount of arsenopyrite, pyrite, etc.; part of the gold is wrapped in limonite or exists in the cracks between limonite and quartz. The size of this part of the gold particles is nanometer-level and difficult to recycle; a small amount of gold is distributed in the cracks of hematite and pyrite or is wrapped in them. The size of the gold ore particles is 3 to 9 μm; a large part of gold is wrapped by non-metallic minerals or exists in the cracks of non-metallic minerals. The upper limit of gold particle size is 4.2 μm, and the lower limit is less than 0.5 μm, which is difficult to dissociate. This is the main unfavorable factor in the gold recovery process.
After many experimental analyses, the process of granulation heap leaching was finally adopted to recover gold. The process is that the heap particle size is -50 mm, the amount of granulation cement is 0.5%, the amount of lime is 1%, the mass ratio of ore to circulating liquid is 1:1, the spray intensity is 30 L/(m2h), the sodium cyanide concentration is 0.1%, and the heap leaching time is 30 days. The gold leaching rate is 50.83%.
The above is a heap leaching method for gold extraction from a certain oxidized fine-grained gold ore. In an actual ore dressing plant, how to choose a gold extraction process for gold ore needs to be determined through experimental analysis. Through different gold extraction method tests, a process method with a controllable investment range and high recovery rate is finally selected.
