Common molybdenum minerals in nature include sulfide minerals, oxide minerals, molybdates, etc. Among them, molybdenite is widely distributed, and almost all the world's molybdenum production is obtained from molybdenite. In actual production, molybdenum ore separation methods include gravity separation, magnetic separation, flotation, etc. Different ore separation methods and process flows are required depending on the type and nature of the ore. Since molybdenum ore has good floatability, it is mainly processed by flotation, and flotation reagents are the key to flotation technology. The following article will introduce you to the molybdenum ore beneficiation method, process flow and types of reagents used in flotation, to help you better understand molybdenum ore beneficiation technology.
As mentioned above, molybdenum ore can be processed by flotation, gravity separation, magnetic separation and combined beneficiation.
1. Flotation method: The structure of molybdenite is generally lamellar and has the characteristics of easy flotation. When the flotation process is used alone, the two-stage re-grinding process of coarse concentrate can be adopted, and then the multiple concentrating flotation process can be used. After this process, a high-grade molybdenum concentrate can be obtained with less environmental pollution.
2. Flotation-magnetic separation-gravity separation combined method:This method is mainly suitable for associated molybdenum ores, especially iron-containing molybdenum ores. This process can also select multiple minerals at the same time to improve resource utilization.
3. Flotation-electric furnace method:This process is used to treat paragenetic molybdenum ores containing precious metals.
According to the different ore composition and mineral composition of the molybdenum ore, the flotation process can be divided into a priority flotation process and a mixed flotation process.
1. Priority flotation process:The recovery of primary molybdenum often adopts the priority flotation process. Single molybdenum ore, tungsten-molybdenum ore, iron-molybdenum ore and other molybdenum ores can be treated by this process.
2. Mixed flotation process:The recovery of by-product molybdenum often adopts the mixed flotation process. Copper-molybdenum ore, lead-molybdenum ore and other molybdenum ores containing copper or lead sulfide minerals can be used for this process.
In the process of molybdenum ore flotation, collectors, frothers, medium adjusters and copper mineral inhibitors of different strengths are usually used.
1. Collector: Common collectors include kerosene, black medicine, yellow medicine, etc. Hydrocarbon oil and thiocyanate collectors can be used to improve the floatability of molybdenite. In addition, new high-efficiency collectors such as acetylene collectors and dodecyl mercaptan are also widely used in molybdenum ore dressing. In order to improve the flotation index of molybdenite, each mine can adopt collector-free flotation according to the different properties of the ore.
2. Frothing agent: The frothers used in molybdenum ore flotation include methyl isobutyl carbinol, hexanol, pine oil, etc.
3. Copper mineral inhibitors: The main types of inhibitors are sodium sulfide, sodium sulfite, cyanide, etc., while the main type of gangue mineral inhibitors is water glass.
4. Medium adjusters: Common types of reagents include sodium carbonate, lime and sulfuric acid.
The above content is a brief introduction to molybdenum ore dressing process, flotation process and flotation reagents. Since molybdenum ore resources are non-renewable minerals, in order to recover the valuable components of molybdenum ore resources and continuously improve the comprehensive utilization rate of resources, it is necessary to adopt a reasonable molybdenum ore dressing process. With the gradual development of low-grade and difficult-to-select molybdenum ores, the development of collectors with strong collection performance, good selectivity, non-toxicity and low price, and the development of high-efficiency, low-cost and targeted inhibitors can optimize molybdenum ore dressing technology. When selecting molybdenum ore, mixed reagents are used. After mixing according to the proportion, a synergistic effect can be produced, which can improve the flotation effect while reducing the amount of reagents used and reducing production costs.
