Tailings are "waste" produced by mineral processing plants. However, due to the backward mineral processing technology in the early stage, some useful minerals will be discharged with the tailings, resulting in a waste of resources. Nowadays, innovative technologies can be used to reprocess this type of tailings and recover useful minerals. This article takes a certain gold tailings re-selection of iron resources as an example to introduce the tailings re-selection process.

Gold Tailings re-benefication process plan design

The ore of a certain gold mine is gold-bearing limonite and gold-bearing iron clay ore. The early beneficiation plan is: Full mud cyanidation-carbon slurry adsorption technology (cyanidation plant) to recover gold, the process flow is: Raw ore-crushing-grinding-leaching-adsorption-gold-loaded carbon , can effectively select qualified gold concentrate, but the iron-containing minerals are discharged with the tailings, and the iron grade can reach 29%, which has a certain recovery value. Therefore, it has investment value to recycle gold tailings to recover iron resources.

Through the mineral processing test of the gold tailings, it was found that the tailings contained Au, Ag, Cu, Pb, Zb, Fe, etc., among which the gangue minerals were mainly SiO and CaO, with contents of 27.16% respectively. % and 10.79%, and the S and Al2O3 contents are 1.48% and 6.37% respectively.

Iron mineral resources Analysis table

The iron phase analysis results show that the main iron minerals in the tailings are Red and brown iron, and their content It is 19.85%, accounting for 68% of iron minerals, followed by iron silicate and magnetic iron; there is also a small amount of iron sulfide.

After experimental analysis, a design for re-selecting iron from the gold tailings was designed: two stages of strong magnetic pre-selection and tailing removal, and the magnetic separation concentrate undergoes a coarse and sweep reverse flotation process to re-select and recover iron resources. The process flow adopts the gravity-flotation combined mineral processing process.

Iron tailings Ore re-selection process flow chart

Magnetic separation:Two sections of strong magnetic field to be discarded - magnetic separation concentrate process: adopted It is Slon-100 high gradient magnetic separator, the field strength is 850mT, the flushing frequency is 150 times/min, the ore feeding volume is 200g/cycle, and the ore feeding The concentration is 20%, and the fineness -200 mesh accounts for 90%.

Flotation: One rough and one sweep reverse flotation process: using XCF flotation machine, rough selection for 5 minutes, flotation reagents: NaOH 1400g/t, starch 1200g/t, CaCI2 dosage 900g/t, RA-715 dosage 800g/t, No. 2 oil 15g/t. Sweep selection: 3 minutes, the potion will be halved.

Finally, through the re-selection of iron from the tailings, iron minerals with a full iron grade of 60.83% were successfully selected from the gold tailings, with a yield of 29.7%, and were output again after separation The tailings can still be sold as cement auxiliary materials.
