It mainly cooperates with flotation reagents to allow the slurry to achieve the mineral separation process with the help of the buoyancy of air bubbles.
During the entire flotation process, the flotation reagent and the ore slurry to be separated are mixed and then enter the flotation machine. After being stirred and aerated by the flotation machine, the contact, collision, and adhesion of bubbles and mineral particles are completed to achieve the result. During mineralization, the target mineral floats up with bubbles to the surface of the slurry and becomes a foam layer, forming a flotation concentrate, which is discharged from the flotation machine through a scraper or gravity flow. Non-target minerals remain in the slurry area and are discharged from the tank.
The quality of the final flotation index is closely related to the operating conditions and specific performance of the flotation machine used. Today, as flotation technology becomes increasingly mature, the requirements for the design and production of flotation machines are also getting higher and higher. The research and development and manufacturing of mining flotation machines by large mining equipment manufacturers has entered a new stage.
In order to ensure the normal progress of the flotation process, enough air must be able to enter the flotation machine, and the air must be dispersed into bubbles of appropriate size in the slurry, and these bubbles must be evenly distributed in the flotation machine tank; The turbulence intensity must be sufficient to ensure that the mineral particles and bubbles have sufficient contact and collision opportunities; the tank must have a certain depth, and the bubbles and flotation mineral particles must have sufficient interaction time; the mechanical agitation flotation machine must have Appropriate stirring intensity, sufficient collision kinetic energy between mineral particles and bubbles while avoiding tumbling; the flotation environment should be as stable as possible to enhance bubble mineralization and reduce the shedding force of mineral particles; a foam layer with sufficient thickness and stability should be formed. The mis-selected non-target minerals are returned to the pulp area to enhance the secondary enrichment effect.
