The pretreatment before tin ore flotation mainly includes: classification , desliming, desulfurization and iron removal, the purpose is to remove some impurities before flotation to improve tin ore flotation efficiency.
Tin ore pretreatment-grading operation:Due to factors such as the nature of the ore and the adsorption of flotation agents and mineral surfaces, the particle size composition of the materials entering cassiterite flotation is not suitable. Too wide, the suitable particle size composition is 74~10μm, so the mineral particles need to be classified through a screening machine to make them meet the particle size requirements.
Tin ore pretreatment - desliming operation: Generally, fine-grained tin ore is easily mixed in foam products. It reduces the grade of the concentrate; it is easy to cover the surface of coarse particles, affecting the flotation of coarse particles; it absorbs a large amount of chemicals and increases the consumption of chemicals; it makes the slurry sticky and the aeration conditions deteriorate. Therefore, it is necessary to remove the mud in the inclusions and foam through preliminary desliming operations.
Tin ore pretreatment-pre-selection operation:Centrifuge pre-selection is used before floating tin, discarding a large amount of gangue minerals and fine mud, greatly reducing the amount selected for the floating tin operation.
Tin ore pretreatment-desulphurization operation:Sulfide has good floatability, which affects the grade and recovery rate of floating tin products. According to relevant information, when the sulfur content in floating tin materials is greater than 1%, it will affect the floating tin index. Before tin floating, the sulfide in the material must be removed to reduce the sulfur grade to less than 1%. The sulfur removal must reduce the tin loss as much as possible.
Tin ore pretreatment-iron removal operation:Iron minerals have a great influence on floating tin. If the mineral contains a large amount of magnetite and pyrrhotite, magnetic separation can be used to remove iron minerals. If the iron-containing mineral is hematite or limonite, the effect of fine-grained magnetic separation on iron removal is often poor, tin loss is 40~50%, and it is difficult to obtain high grade in floating tin operations. The main reason for the tin ore is that the floatability of hematite and limonite is similar to that of cassiterite, and there are few effective inhibitors for hematite and limonite, so iron removal operations need to be carried out before flotation.
The concentrate grade of cassiterite flotation is usually low , there are three main reasons:
1. There are still conjoined bodies and inclusions of cassiterite and other minerals;
2. Other metals with similar floatability to cassiterite Minerals and gangue minerals are easy to float with cassiterite;
3. The particle size is fine and entrainment is easy to occur.
If you want to effectively improve the grade of tin ore flotation concentrate, you can further improve it through the following methods:
1. Mix it with high-grade concentrate to achieve the grade of qualified concentrate. Refinery;
2. As a tin-rich medium ore, it is directly sent to a fumeification furnace for processing;
3. A variety of combined mineral processing processes further improve the tin grade.
