When the nickel content is higher than 3%, it can be smelted directly, while when it is lower than 3%, mineral processing and purification are required. Depending on the composition of nickel ore, the process methods used are also different, but the flow of each process is basically: crushing and screening - grinding and classification - separation - tailings treatment. Nickel ore crushing and screening stage

The nickel crushing and screening stage often adopts a three-stage and one closed-circuit crushing and screening process. The raw ore is fed into the first stage of crushing from the feeding silo, and then enters the second stage of crushing. After being crushed to a certain particle size, it is sent to the screening machine by the belt conveyor. The materials above the screen return to the second stage crusher, while the materials under the screen enter the grinding stage.

Nickel ore grinding and classification stage

Grinding and screening generally adopts a two-stage closed-circuit grinding operation. After crushing, the qualified materials are sent to a stage of ball mill by a transporter, and then classified after grinding. During operation, the overflow product returns to the first stage for re-grinding, and the low-flow qualified materials are sent to the second-stage ball mill. After grinding, they are fine-grained. After classification, the qualified products enter the sorting stage, while the overflow returns to the second-stage grinding to continue re-grinding. .

Grid Ball Mill:Grinding in one section Coarse grinding, the grinding particle size range is 0.2~0.3mm

Overflow ball mill: Fine grinding is done in the second stage grinding, the grinding particle size is less than 5~10μm

Spiral classifier:In the first stage of grinding operation, it cooperates with the grid ball mill for classification operation

Nickel ore separation stage

The nickel ore separation stage mainly includes flotation method and gravity separation method. According to the properties of the ore, Different, the process chosen is different.

Nickel ore flotation

Flotation is mostly suitable for processing nickel sulfide ore containing silicate gangue or nickel mineral with uneven particle size. According to the different mineral properties,commonly used flotation methods include priority flotation method and mixed flotation method.

Priority flotation: The process of floating copper and nickel suppression is used. The ground product is sent to the stirring tank, sulfide inhibitor and copper collector are added, and the mixture is fully stirred. It is then sucked into a flotation machine to float out the copper concentrate, and the tailings then enter the next stage to add a sulfide ore collector to obtain nickel concentrate through flotation.

Stage grinding is carried out to make the two minerals dissociate in a single step, and then enter the next stage of flotation. Before flotation, it is first sent to the stirring tank, and agents that inhibit sulfurization and agents that capture copper are added to fully mix them. , the copper concentrate is flotated, while the tailings in the flotation tank are nickel concentrate.

Nickel ore gravity separation

Nickel ore gravity separation generally adopts heavy media beneficiation method, which is suitable for processing iron-nickel-platinum type copper-nickel ore minerals, using the combination of gangue and nickel sulfide ore. Due to the difference in density, the slurry is fed into a heavy medium cyclone at a pressure of 0.05 to 0.20Mpa for separation. The low flow part is nickel sulfide ore, while the overflow part is silicate gangue ore.
