Case details

The molybdenum and tungsten ore concentrator used small crushing equipment and a two-stage open circuit crushing process in the early crushing stage. The crushed product had a coarse particle size and could not meet the energy-saving principle of "more crushing and less grinding". In the grinding stage, a ball mill and a single spiral classifier are used to form a section of closed-circuit grinding. The grinding energy consumption is too large, and the separation index is also affected, resulting in a low concentrate grade.

Process introduction

Xinhai designed a new mineral processing process for it. The raw ore is fed into the crusher through a vibrating feeder, and the particle size of the crushed product is ≤150mm. The one-stage grinding of the grinding and classification stage uses an autogenous grinding machine, which forms a closed-circuit grinding with a linear screen. The material under the screen enters the cyclone for classification, and the returned sand enters the second-stage grid ball mill for closed-circuit grinding. The final grinding fineness is - 200 mesh accounts for about 65%.

The flotation stage uses a method of preferentially flotating molybdenum ore and then flotating tungsten ore from the tailings. The molybdenum rough sweeping operation adopts one coarse, two fine and two sweep flotation process. Molybdenum scavenging tailings artesian tungsten flotation operation system. The molybdenum selection operation adopts the seven fine flotation process.

Tungsten flotation adopts the two-coarse and four-sweep flotation process. The flotation tailings are transported to the tailings reservoir via a slurry pump, and the coarse concentrate is transported to a deep cone thickener via a slurry pump. After concentration, high-temperature decontamination is performed. The tungsten beneficiation operation adopts a five-concentration and two-sweep process. The concentrated and decontaminated slurry is returned to the tungsten beneficiation operation, and the resulting tungsten concentrate is sent to the dehydration system.

Project results

In the end, the grade of flotation molybdenum concentrate was 45% and the recovery rate was 85%; the grade of flotation tungsten concentrate was 65% and the recovery rate was 65%.
